About Us
Based in Hamilton and Tauranga, Les Harrison Transport Group has gradually expanded from its one truck fleet to become the diverse operation it is today.
We have every truck to suit every need – from swinglift to Flatdeck, hiab to curtain-sider, we can do it all. It was small beginnings – Les kept it simple, driving as an owner operator for 5 years before starting Les Harrison Transport Ltd and bringing some crane trucks into his business.
Starting with building materials, the business only grew from there – concrete products, steel, containers, cabins and just about anything that can be carted on a truck. With so many items needing lifting and carting, its important for our drivers to keep to the basics – assess the site, ensure solid footing and taking care of their surroundings before starting any works.
But container movements were growing – faster than realistic for the crane trucks to handle – leading to the expansion of our container division; Container Movers Limited. With this came the swinglift, Flatdeck and skeletal units you see on the roads today, moving both import and export containers, structural steel and concrete, helping local businesses boom.
We didn’t stop there – there’s small, fragile freight to be moved and that’s where the curtain siders come in. L C Freight Limited operates out of Hamilton and services Auckland and Tauranga; their trucks are always busy making sure your products get from A to B.
Progress hasn’t halted though – Les Harrison Hiabs Limited is our Tauranga based branch providing their hiab crane services to the Bay of Plenty, Coromandel and Hawkes bay regions, working in with everyone else in the group to get things done.
Expansion didn’t stop there – our Hamilton branch offers containers for hire and sale under Container Hire and Sales Ltd; they have 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers available in varying conditions and configurations to suit all of your storage or moving needs. Our facility is also a MAF approved transitional facility and we can devann your imports and deliver palletized to your site. Your reefers are safe with us too – with inhouse storage & power and frequent temperature checks, we ensure your product stays cool as.
